An old chimera or a new one?

Either, so long as it's used regularly and serviced competently (both at the recommended intervals but also preventatively by the owner in between).

I would say somewhere in between. Not much help am I?

Ones that have been used and can prove it with bills, and are no longer plagued with electric/mechanical problems are probably a better bet. Or maybe a slightly used (newer) one. Who knows?
