Belgium GP info needed......
Discussion
At very short notice a mate & I have arranged to visit the Nurburgring in his Caterham. The weekend we have chosen to go is 10 & 11 Sept - which by a fluke is the same weekend as the Belgian GP!!
We have decided to go via Spa but due to time constraints we'll only be able to be there for Saturday practice, qualifying, GP2 race etc before heading to the 'ring for Sunday.
I've been to Spa GP before but was armed with full weekend tickets booked well in advance. None of the ticket agencies I know of have been able to sell us tickets for the Saturday only and none have been able to confirm if we will be able to buy on the day.
Does anyone know if we can pay on the day for Saturday only? Any ideas of costs (we only want general admission tickets)?
When I went before we were in seats - with a general admission ticket are you able to walk round the whole circuit? Where are the recommended viewing places?
Thanks in advance for any info you can give us!

From memory they only sell 3 day tickets. There are still a few available apparently.
Yes you can walk around much of the circuit but as you can imagine, the best vantage points such as in front of the Becks hoarding at top of Eau Rouge, Bus Stop etc, will be absolutely jam-packed full. Places such as the path that parallels the Kemel straight etc may be your best bet but obviously will not be the best viewing point (although the end of Kemel/Les Combes presented one of the most famous passes in modern day F1 when Hakkinen took Schumacher there a few yrs ago).

The general viewing point at Eau Rouges is now sadly no more - there is just hospitality units until around until close to the road that goes across the top round by Swiss Cottage (the old access road).
Can't help with tickets - it might be worth trying the Tourist Information Office that is in Spa, I've been in there previously and they always have someone who speaks good English.
Good luck and have a great time!

we paid even less for the hungaroring, silverstone take note! we are prepared to suffer easyjet and their lenghty check-in queues to enjoy F1 at a sensible price!!

Thanks for that - have emailed them and they have confirmed that Saturday tickets are not available separately and can only be purchased as part of a weekend ticket.
Seems strange to me though. I remember when I first went to Silverstone it was for the Saturday only. Saturday attendances are never that big and selling Saturday only tickets could generate a few more quid for the circuits from those people unwilling or unable to cough up sufficient for the Sunday / weekend price.
Oh well, we're just going to go straight to the Nurburgring now and watch the events from Spa from a bar....!!
