Being reported on the race.

Would be a great move imo. Though I don't think the driver is the problem for Ferrari, but he might get the most out of a semi competitive car.

It is a just a rehash of the speculation. Nothing definite at all.

Reports are that he's received an offer.

Which frankly... means nothing.

I strongly suspect this is negotiation / game playing by one party or another and has little substance or likelihood.

As a lifelong Ferrari fan who doesn't like Hamilton do I want this to happen? no.

I also didn't like Alonso and mellowed a little on him when he came.

It's a fascinating topic, albeit one that's undoubtedly at least 90% speculation

The Race video summed it up well, as it's a struggle to understand what the benefits could be for either party.

Yup.

However much trouble Mercedes are in at the moment, I think they are far more likely to mount a serious title challenge in the remainder of Hamilton's career than Ferrari.

Whats the contract situation like with the Sainz and Leclerc?

I'm not sure Hamilton will like Leclerc beating him most saturdays but Leclerc might lean something from Hamiltons pace on a Sunday..

Plus its Italy and Italian fans.

I'm not sure Hamilton is an empire builder, more of an individual that expects a fast car rather then builds one.

Let's face it. Hamilton's pretty much finished. Even young George is showing him the way.

If Ferrari want to win then they need Adrian Newey.

Le Clerk would be fine if he did not feel the need to drive at 110% to make up for his cars lack of pace.

Seems to be new articles on this everyday.

Is it worth it at this stage of his career? One thing he does have is still being the most marketable driver.

Would this be any use?

I think there is no chance of Lewis going to Ferrari. He is too involved with MB on multiple projects, not just the F1 driver deal.

I’m a Hamilton fan and would love to see him at Ferrari. That would be one hell of a commercial tie up and he’s not too shabby at driving either.

Whilst CLC and Sainz can be quick they’re not WDC level in terms of pace consistency, single mindedness, ruthlessness and are pretty error prone.

This.

I think there's just too much risk of a Schumacher-style ignominious end to his great career, rather than the 8th WDC he craves.

But it's all fluff anyway - I can't help but be sceptical when rumours of signing for another team come out right as he's talking about a contract extension with Mercedes......

I agree, I really wish he'd have won in '21 and then retired as the greatest of all time / on a high.

It now feel a little desperate and I really see his chances dwindling. Hoping to another team I don't see as a gracious way of trying to get it done.

And that is the thing about Masi and the Red Bull thing. They actually cost him the chance of being the record winning WDC driver. It was far, far more than just a single race or even a single WDC. That the FIA allowed it is one of the reason the sport is now just a TV show and more a joke than anything I am keen to follow (unlike the last 40 years of my life!)

I wonder if the rumour has been stoked more in response to Leclerc's 'not yet' comments regarding a possible move to Mercedes, and / or a means to place the proverbial rocket up his bum.

If there's genuine meat on the bone, I can see this panning out. If Mercedes' much anticipated upgrades fail to upgrade their performance, that will likely mean next year's car will also be compromised and I'm not certain Hamilton's loyalties to them will extend much beyond this year if that's the case. If Leclerc fails to deliver some consistency with his speed, Ferrari will fall out of love with him.
