It’s now official, Huw named as the BBC presenter by his wife, so I guess the mods will let this thread run.

And important to note, no evidence of criminal wrong doing, so presumably no pictures exchanged before the young person was 18.

It appears he's done nothing unlawful for his £35,000. But recent events have possibly caused a mental breakdown. I feel sorry for him. MSM and the publics appetite for salacious gossip.

Well, the "mental health" card didnt take long to be deployed. BBC taking no further action. I bet they couldn't wait to sweep this under the rug.

The whole thing absolutely stinks.

I believe he has a history of living with depression and this episode sure as hell won't have helped given he's in hospital as a result.

I do wonder sometimes with this sort of thing whether the public and media will be happy short of waking up to find someone has topped themselves.

No winners in this one far as I can see.

He's resigned and the police have found no evidence of criminal activity, what exactly are they supposed to do in the short term?

Sure review their complaints procedures, culture etc etc, plenty to unpick there, but specifically with Huw at this moment in time, the immediate situation has kinda been resolved.

Worth noting he has a history of severe depression, so the 'mental health card' hasn't exactly come out of the blue.

Half of that is nonsense.

The S*n certainly stinks. Hope they get sued into oblivion.

[ph mode]well 430k’s barely enough to scrape by on in London. Doubt there was enough left for frozen sausages and custard.[/ph mode]

He has well-publicised issues with mental health. Why do you think that’s not now an issue?

How to avoid depression?

Don't pursue a morally dubious course of action when you are a public figure. Simples

People are always sorry when they get found out....but never before oddly enough?

I never liked him as a newsreader.

If he had such a poor medical history, he should have stood down a long time ago.

Depression card being played. OK so he might have been depressed, but so are many people, yet somehow manage to avoid being perverts.

Oh well, he's fked his st up. Hope it was worth it.
