Hi Guys,
Quick question with regards to a new(ish) mini. Its a mini one D, R56 model (I think), 2011 plate.
It's just begun to sound as though the turbo is whistling.
1. Does the Mini One D have a turbo?
2. Is there any checks I could do to see if the turbo is on the way out?
3. Any other recommendations/things it could possibly be?

Yes, it has a turbo.
Yes, it could be the turbo.
If you have/can borrow a code reader it may help, if you can have a good look round the airbox for any issues, it could just be something obvious there, aside of that there isn't really anything the average diy-er can do except take it to a trusted garage to be checked out.
FYI, I think it is the same engine as is used in many others, so shouldn't be strange to the average garage.
