Hey, im doing the RMC this year, and i was at the local kart shop chatting when i heard that karting in europe was totally different than america. Supposedly Americans are "pansies" when it comes to karting or motorsport in general. ANywas i heard if you aren't aggressive in europe then you can get booted off on the warm up lap!! Can anyone give me some experiences?? I also hear that you euro's like to bump quite a bit, while we tend to complain about being bumped.

Hi. Try www.karting.co.uk, they have a very active forum and will probably answer your question!

In my experience there is a quite a lot of bumping but generally it doesn't bother me too much. Apparently i bump people quite a lot - perhaps I do. I find it very hard to follow someone closely without nudging their rear bumper a bit because through a corner (especially at the apex) speeds can differ quite a bit.

when I cart (non proffessionally, just a big group of mates), I can hear the swearing in Finnnish of the person who is always in front of me. I'm faster than him for the most part, but he is a much better racer unfortunately.

One day he'll not get another trophy (he has three of the buggers so far).
