I am looking to buy a 360 and noticed the Marenello's Warrenty doesn't cover oil leaks. This scared me and stopped my buying a car until I had done some more investigation work. Have any of your suffered from Oil leaks and if so where and how much was it to fix it?

are they prone to them?

any other things to watch out for?

any pointers would be much appreciated,

thanks

My 360 uses less oil than any other car I've owned and I've done more miles in the 360 in 18 months than any of the others in the same period!

What a marvellous machine, you should buy one

It's a pretty well sorted Ferrari. Things can potentially go wrong the more you use it, mostly wear and tear items though.

If it's an F1 car then get the clutch checked for how much life is approx left. Suspension bits can wear pretty quick from my experience.

Don't get it serviced with a main dealer...goes for belts too. Much cheaper at specialists and more clued up, especially Verdi's.

Promise me you'll use the car unlike those people who do about 3K a year in it, what a waste....Good luck...T

Edited to say.....If you do buy one and it sounds like a car made in Switzerland, rip the fuing thing out and UPGRADE as a priority!!

dont worry, if I get one I will be using it every day doing 15k a year on - I will just change it yearly for another one.

thanks for the advice - I am going to get on soon that's for sure!!

That oil leak clause is a 'get out of jail free' card for the warranty providers. I've never had an oil leak on a 360; had a very minor one from the cam seals on the 456 and thought I might get a free cam belt change until that particular clause was pointed out.

Only problems on my 360 were the sender for the oil temperature gauge and the backup battery for the alarm.

We use 360's as our rental workhorse because it's one of the most reliable. Never experienced an oil leak either. Although using a specialist garage helps when it comes to servicing.

cheers for your help guys, now got to get the girlfriend around to my thinking as at the moment all I get is that horrible saying of 'if you dare come home with a ferrari I am leaving you' - she said that about my 996 TT so tried it and she is still here ;-)

Think she is just worried about me spending too much time with the car and not getting any of my time.

I have decided I am going to get one for sure but not until March 06 so I can get more money together and get the best one I can find.

thanks again for your help

JNB 1 can't make his mind up.

A month ago he was deciding between a 355 and a 360 - now he's had a Modena and a spider! He really goes through his cars doesn't he?
