Mini Countryman 2016 Lights

Mt gf has a 2016 Countryman and has recently complained about the lights, in the dark they don't seem to provide much light on the road, having driven it I would agree. It has an adjustment by the steering wheel but that doesn't help much. The lights are always kept clean etc is it worth upgrading to LED light bulbs or is it a case of, they all do that sir, seen these on a youtube video

Night breakers et-al are known to be a significant improvement over standard halogen, but are you sure that is what is fitted?
You need to check this first as they may just be el-cheapo bulbs and hopefully better quality ones will help.
WRT LEd bulbs, they are illegal unless fitted into headlamps that are designed for LED.
On an aside to this, there is likely to be an LED alternative for a car so young if it has self-levelling headlamps.

Wasn't sure on the legality of LEDs, thanks for confirming. Where would I find the LED alternative you refer to?
Whilst I cannot help you directly, what I can tell you is that even after the model update in 2017, the halogen headlights remained shockingly bad on the F60. I mean, to the point of being dangerous at night. Sadly I had 2 years in a brand new Cooper S model and it ruined the experience massively.
Anyway, I think your best option might be to see whether retrofitting the factory HID units from a higher spec model would be financially feasible option...? I'd expect some local loom mods and recoding would be necessary?

Gf mum has a 2019 Clubman and has the same issue. I do find it dangerous especially in heavy rain when its dark, don't plan to keep the car for that long so hoping for a relatively cheap and easy fix, dont really fancy recoding etc. Anyway, I think your best option might be to see whether retrofitting the factory HID units from a higher spec model would be financially feasible option...?
