Mini Cooper '17 is there a manual boot release?

Anyone know if there is a manual boot release on 2017 Mini Cooper? Saw some You Tube vids for earlier models and there was a ring pull under the rear seats, I've just checked there and I don't have one.
Boot it stuck closed, if I use the boot unlock button on the key fob car thinks the boot is open, but it's not, hasn't even popped sightly out like it normally does.
Any advice greatly appreciated thanks!

According to YT there should be a manual release pull ring under the rear seat?

If this is similar to the boot lock issue on R55 Clubmans, and you don't have the cable pull under the rear seat base, then you need to climb into the car, fold the rear seats down, get the interior plastic trim off the boot and insert a screwdriver into the locking mechanism to pop it open.

weirdly after a few days of me yanking at it from the outside it eventually opened, but i'll def save that tip cheers
