Hi all, I've searched here and on the wider Web and can't find any solid info about replacing the shields with the body on.

Is it possible? If so would it be merely a short term fit until the body comes off. I've no short term plans to do a body off resto but the engine bay shields are really crusty (Ive not looked at the tunnel ones) so was wondering if any of you have had any success with a fairly permanent short term fit?

Thanks

Paul

In my opinion you're gonna really struggle. Perhaps others on here have done it, but its going to be a proper pain.

As per the below they extend further down and rearwards more than you think. The side panels would be tough enough with the chassis, engine and manifolds to contend with, and in all honesty you couldn't pay me to try and do the cockpit to engine bulkhead... Plus you'll need some sort of cutouts for the heater hoses, brake/clutch line block and a couple of other things. Not a job I'd personally take on.

I followed suggestions from others and used foil tape from
screwfix. It’s lasted well and looks good. Pretty easy to fully cover the existing heat shields and with a bit of care it looks good.

Great idea, thanks.
