Hi,

I am looking for the right option to replace my existing rear axle on my Tuscan Challenge to increase top speed ?

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks
Chris

Can't you just replace the diff for another ratio.

Yes you’re right, i suppose i could.

I haven’t openned it yet.

Any ideas on what could be a proper ratio?

That would be the ratio which gives you your desired speed range.

What's prompting you to want to change it? Are you running out of revs on track, or trying to make it a better long distance cruiser, or what?

New races format. No more sprint. 2 to 6hours racing on major Spanish and French circuits with long straight line, i need speed.

As Peter asks .. are you running out of revs ?

If top speed is your aim you would do well to look at improving drag if you are allowed body mods. Removing the roof from my V8S knocked the best part of 20mph off my top speed at the end of revitt straight at snetterton. Add a roof (or better still a long tapering hardtop) ..

Then you would be looking for ways to raise the rev limit or get the gearing taller. If you want wider ranges across the whole speed range you could do it by fitting bigger wheels or changing the final drive gearing. If you want to retain close ratios at lower speeds you'd need to change the ratios in the 'box.

How big an increase are you looking for? Do you know what diff ratio you have currently?

Quite a simple one.

You will have 3.73 ratio, the cerbera has a 3.45. Direct and easy replacement.
