My old fridge has given up the ghost. It was over ten years old, I'm not complaining.

I've bought a Samsung plumbed in replacement. But I'm unsure what it comes with. Do I need to buy filters and fittings?

Luckily I've had a rummage and discovered that the previous occupant of the house had the foresight to have plumbed in a water supply for the fridge. One end is properly attached under the sink to the cold supply with a stop cock. The other end is terminated as the iffy pics below (apologies, not the easiest to get to).

My question is, what do I need to connect the fridge to this cold water supply?

They usually come with filters and hoses.
You may need a connection to fit onto existing supply feed.

I have a bespoke kitchen company, so buy a lot of American fridges, admittedly not Samsung but confident you'll get the above.

Is that stop end a screw fixing? What is the connection from the fridge like?

The fridge is being delivered on Monday, so if I need to nip down to Screwfix before then, I'd like to know what I need to get.

In my experience (of a single fridge), it came with plenty of fittings and Noddy-level instructions. Easy job to do.

I'm not expecting it to overly tax my ability. Just don't want to be missing an adaptor or something.

Your new fridge should come together with some pipe and fittings included.

Mine packed up last month and I bought a Samsung too.
However, mine was the shop display unit with a handsome discount, but they couldn't find the fittings.
I bought a kit from a local domestic appliance repair shop.
He did recommend I replace the plastic pipe for new.

The fittings are push fit.
Remove the blue clip, slip the fitting onto the pipe and re-insert the clip to lock. thumbup

This is how mine is setup, pretty sure the basic fittings and filter came with the FF, the 8mm flexi pipe that goes under the units from the filter to the fridge definitely came with it.

Yeah, I'm familiar with those fittings. Happy days.

I'll isolate the water supply over the weekend and try and work out how to get that stop end off.

I ahead Samsung plumbed jn American fridge. It came with almost everything you need. Only thing I needed to get was a copper tee with isolator to connect to the main.

It will come with a filter and will flash inside when it need changing. ESpares a good place to order replacements.

Word of caution. The filter connects by pushing the pipe into each end and held in place with a retaining clip. You have to push the pipe in pretty hard till it clicks in. Otherwise you turn it on and will have a fountain in your kitchen- ask me how I know.

Ours came with a vampire tap.

Select a suitable pipe, clip the tap on, screw in, join the hose to the fridge and then turn on.

All the fittings for our Samsung fridge (except the water filter which is screw on ends) are John Guest 5/16 push fit fittings.

I put a washing machine type tap in for it and used a John Guest adapter to 5/16 to run to the fridge.

Squeeze the collar to the fitting and pull off at the same time.

Jeez man it's in an inaccessible enough place without trying to do that at the same time! laugh
