I've only had my Chimera for a couple of weeks. Absolutely brilliant. One annoying thing is the bulb has blown on the speedo. I don't have a clue how to get to it. Please help!!!

Do you mean you have no light on the speedo or less light than on the other dials? If less this is normal because there is only one bulb due to mileometer gubbins taking up space. Other dials have two bulbs. If you have no light at all I am flumoxed.

I have less light than the other dials. I assumed the bulb had blown and the lumination was from the other dials. If it's down to the lack of bulbsit does't look to good. Anything I can do about it?

PS. if you are wondering why my name had changed, I thought Chimmey was a bit cheesy. My new one is just as bad but it's all I can think of for now

You might be able to upgrade the bulb behind the speedo, but I'm afraid that is about the limit of my technical knowledge.

well to change the bulbs on any of the instruments the top of the dash has to either be unbolted at one end(from the left hand side two nuts to come off from underneath) or take the whole top off which will require the bolt at the far end of the right hand side to come off as well .they are fiddly to get at but be carefull as you can damage the wooden veneer bit ,its easy once you have done it a few times ,i think there may be some details on the tvr books website with a few pics ,dont give in to having a garage do it cos you never know what they are doing to your pride and joy.

You can put a brighter bulb in, I had it done on my '92 chimp (with the old style ticking odometer). It did make a difference, but it was never as bright as the other dials.

I did this on my '95 car. 4W instead of 2W (or whatever, I can't remember exactly, the next wattage up) - the speedo is now slightly brighter than the other dials.
