looks nice, check the service history (call the garages etc) find out when the last time the main consumables where replaced, clutch, brakes, tyres etc.
run a credit check on the car, dont worry if it has 3 or 4 owners, its common for these cars to be bought, loved for a year, then sold for another supercar.
see what reciepts they have for it, and if you really think its right, go to a OPC spend £200 for the CTI check, or bill the owner if you can negotiate it, and if it comes back all clear, buy the car, get it warranted for the year so if it has any probs that the OPC dident find, porsche will pay to repair it. (as long as it is a part covered, engine, gearbox etc.
I did it the brave way, went to see the owner went away and checked out the car, 2 days later I asked him to bring it down for a final look over and told him I would go the bank with him and get the bankers draft if I wanted it after the final check, boy i wish i dident do that, and know I know better for next time (yeah right) but fortunatly, I got lucky
this was the first 911 I looked around (after many weeks even months looking) and when i saw it I had a good feeling about it so I went for it!
have fun

comprehensive technical inspection.
Porsche require this before they will let you buy a extended warranty, just to make sure they aint warranting a lemon. and I think for a S reg you will only have one more year of this.
in the larger pics, the car looks lowered slightly? is it just me?

Does'nt sound too bad for that sort of money, still i think that for the same money or a couple of grand more you will have a better choice of car with lower miles. My opinion is,take all the sound advice in this thread but dont rush to buy because there are plenty of people out there at this time of year that are desperate to sell.

Check this car out at www.harpendencarsales.co.uk If this car checks out it looks a better car for the same cash, you should be able to have the deal done at 27k
pet hate of mine is ads that are cluttrered with garbage like ABS and electric windows listed as features.
stripping out the irrelevance:
PORSCHE 996 carrera 2, 1999 S Reg , 66,000 miles, Metallic Black, Electrically adjustable seats, Full service history, Sports seats, £26,999
the Harpenden one has only 19k miles so much better bet

I was told by a well respected indy when looking for my 996 that low miles can be more risky as any potential engine problems may not have manifested themselves. Over 60,000 and no problems he said was pretty much a safe bet. Thats why I bought with a few more miles on the clock. I suspect the risk is very low anyway but better to have more rather than less peace of mind IMO.
