Having just fitted a set of 19" Cargraphics it appears to have highlighted the need to lower the car.

I need advice to achieve a sensible solution and not one that will render the car unbearable.

Is it always going to be an expensive route whereby I have to change springs and shocks or is it possible to just fit new shorter springs only.

Has anyone had any experience of either?

Thought the TT was already lowered some as standard. My RS is really low and its a pain in the arse for ramps, and you can grind the splitter on compressions on country roads. If you lower too far with the standard soft springs I suspect you'll be grounding out on compressions too.

I thought the tt was 20mm lower than a standard C2?Mine has the factory - 10mm .Idid try H&R springs on my old boxster with standard shocks and it felt really good and lower by 30mm,redline racing set it all up for me.The only downside was no mater how i drove it,the rear tyers would'nt do more than 3.5 thousand miles which became rather expensive in the end.

Fairly sure the RS is -30mm all round and I'd find it annoying if it was a daily ride.

The TT is wouldn't appear to look anything like as low as an RS.

Because the new wheels sit further out than the originals the gap between tyre and arch tends to be more apparent.

I'm used to low cars and I reckon you just learn to adapt.
