bugger...turns out the 996 I was having inspected today turns out to have led a "checkered" life!!!

Bad paint match on panels, dodgy whine from gearbox, tatty interior....amongst other things!!...

I suppose I should breath a sigh of relief...in fact, yeah, could of had a massive bill...not a very good introduction to Porsche ownership!!!...

I'll keep you updated with my progress

know you know why people like Henry F dont have a yard full of them. You said you were too busy to travel,in that case my advice is make one trip go and see OLD Henry and take alook at his 996'S,Im sure he wont have your eyes out and i'm positive you will buy a nice car.

Take a look at the silver 996 i know you said black but get past that and look at the car,you dont seem to be bothered about mileage so this car fits your bill,It wont be shi.e and for 27k you could do alot worse,i don't know this guy but i do know from my experience in the trade that he knows his porsche's.Also he is always around this forum so if he was a bandit dealer he would'nt last long here as a member.Try it see what you think i'm sure the guy will have the car you want.www.911virgin.com

stick with it dude, there is a few "bad uns" out there but there is also alot of good uns too.

dont let it put you off.

good luck with the search, once you find the right one you will love it and be proud.

Henry F also does know his stuff, dont know the bloke, never spoken or seen his establishment but he has given me some good advice and reading his other posts, he has the right idea, not just when it comes to selling cars.

Having bought my first 911 (3.2 Targa) from Henry's bunch at 911virgin, I would recommend them the anyone.

Give them a go, they'll see you right.
