To cut a long story short, started out months ago looking at 996TTs, then moved to 993TTs after I decided I preferred them aesthetically. Then decided I wanted a C4S after realising the 993TT might be a scary introduction and perhaps a license-loser. The C4S as others had told me, has all of the looks of the turbo, just a lot slower but by way of balance, sounds better! My plan is to move from the C4S into a 993TT if things go well.

Well, I picked up my 1997R C4S today. Excellent condition and I looked at a LOT of 993s - maybe 30 in all. Only 36K miles in Artic Silver with full Aerokit 2 - looks the business and exactly like the C4S in the final chapter of Peter Morgans "Orginal 911" book for those that have it...

So far? I've done less than 100 miles getting it home but I love it. Absolutely fabulous noise, beautiful looking and no rattles, squeaks at all. Yep, I think I might be going to enjoy this car. I was ready for the offset pedals but the brakes are something else after the uber-assist of my Audi.

A busy day - I also swapped my RS4 for a A2! I couldn't justify or afford to have the RS and the 911 so went to the A2 to get me to work and keep the bad-days miles off the 911...

Thanks to the many who gave me advice off-forum!

I know I have been contacted ‘off forum’ by a couple of would be 993ites in recent months, so if one was your good self then pleased to be of assistance!

If not, then an excellent choice and happy Hooning.

Always warms my heart knowing a 993 is in the hands of a new owner.

Right, remember this feeling when you first get your porsche, how much you love it etc? This is why MULTIPLE owners is a GOOD thing. People still step back in amazement when i tell 'em my car has had 8 previous owners - each loved it as much as you do now - for a year.

Newsflash - if you're windscreens start to creak you can buy pedro's ice wax from ebay for just £3 a bottle. Works a treat.

Please explain - and then what do you do with it?

My windscreen creaks like a ... well, something that creaks a lot.

Cheers.

I'll give it a go.

You should start selling it along with the indicator repeaters ...

Hmm pics - I have some but I guess I have to host them somewhere and then link via address? Or can they be "hosted" here by being posted direct within the post? If the latter, doesn't that upset the dial-up folks...? If the former, any suggestions for where's an easy option, i.e. free and not pages of forms to fill in?

Very nice indeed! All it needs (for me!) are a couple of exhaust-driven hairdriers to go with that wide, sexy ass. Have fun!
