Someone is interested in my car and wants to have a look, which presumably means he wants a test-ride in it (which I am happy to oblige).

But I am less comfortable with letting a total stranger test-drive the car. Should they be allowed? How can they be enticed if they don't get to feel what the car can do? Should they bring proof of ID etc?

Any words of wisdom from those who have sold their cars?

Cheers

My advice is don't rely on the test driver to insure themselves - insure him/her yourself, and only hand over the keys when you're happily ensconced in the passenger seat.

Mikey you still can't start the Cerb without first using the "key".....unless you have managed to get strapped in etc within 20 seconds of unlocking the car.

Also it is the black button which starts the car, the red one switches off the engine

Well it does on my car anyway!!!!
