Looking for an S

As of Thursday, the Puma will have gone and the daily hack should have arrived... I will then have around £6500 to spend on an S series. Now, having been told never to buy the first one you look at, I need to go hunting.

I'd like an S2 or S3 (not too fussed as I like both) and I'd prefer either a Mica Blue, Mica Red or BRG with a magnolia interior, but I'll consider others.

So aside from Sprint, PH classifieds, where else can I find ads with S's for sale? Oh, and are there any other PH'ers who are sitting on the fence about whether to sell their S?

I started looking for my S in April this year and bought one in June.I looked at Quite a few cars and eventually found the one I have thro the PH site. I am convinced that it is best to buy from an enthusiast someone who is a TVR car club member or PH'er. Cars I looked at being advertised elsewere were owned by people who really had no real idear what the car was all about other than that it looked good and was fast!Consequently there was little service history (or inadequate) which is important to have.
If you havnt done so, buy Steve Heaths 'bible'

Before I forget, thanks to everyone for letting me chat to them about the cars they have for sale - there are certainly a lot of well cared for cars out there. At the rate I'm going I'll be picking it soley on the colour!!!

OR: ensure you know you know your stuff.. and find someone who knows sod all about there own car and are desperately selling it via autoreader or similar.. tell them how much the classic car market has drifted downwards, point out a few astoundingly simple faults with the car but make them sound major, and offer them peanuts for it.. 50% chance of success

schnozz I was being serious mate.. this worked very nicely with my 914 and I sold it at a realistic price 2 years later and turned a tidy profit.

Matt - should have added a - i only meant it tongue in cheek - I wholly agree that you are more likely to get away with this sort of thing with a non-enthusiast flogging their motor through autotrader etc.
