I just noticed that the old speed camera on the bridge after the bay tunnels heading towards Culverhouse Cross way has been put back in service. So it is 50 miles an hour out of the tunnels.
It really makes no sense.

bugger. thanks for the warning on that one, thats probably just saved me £60!

EDIT: I can confirm its there. same setup as before, 2 sets of lines, camera only on the first one. limit is 50mph (temporary i hope) marked by a couple large signs. also a scamera sign i dont think was there before.

I came up Pantmawr Road (left at first set of lights coming into Cardiff on A470) last week and could swear that the GATSO has had a face lift and is now a truvelo, so forward facing and no flash, Must go back and have a second look. That will be a good earner, catching all those how think they are safe coming down the hill.

Thanks for the warning about the Bay scamera returning. Fortunately I usually come the other way. However, i will now have to see if i can get it to flash from the opposite side.
As for the Truvelo cameras, i heard a rumour from a reliable source, ( speed friendly traffic cop - Yes there is one ! ) that 19 new Truvelo cameras have been assigned locations around Cardiff. Mostly replacing older Gatsos, but a few new sites are under consideration ! BLOODY FUN NAZI'S

The Echo says it's temporary to protect workmen in the area who are probbaly miles away but they argue it's to slow the traffic. But why pick on that one, they're all useless.

I don't use it but some of the guys in work were saying that it will be closed for 12 months because of the construction of the new Olympic Swimming pool.

my father works near the affected roads and when chatting with him tonight, we dont think the flyover will be closed. i went down there today and its got new road lines painted for closer lanes and coned off the outer sides of it.

the info sign says 12 months from october 30th.

ive tried searching for a useful website but havent come up with anything worthwhile yet, this one is only slightly helpful: www.traffic-wales.com/home.php?lang=english

I noticed the other week that someone set fire to the camera on Port Road just past Tesco on the way to Rhoose. I laughed my ass off, the ultimate revenge. Also noticed that one of the cameras in Ely has had the green paintball treatment.
