Problems on Inspection report
Discussion
Feel like im really hammering this forum so apologies in advance. Have had my porsche inspection done. Its com back with a few minor cosmetics and the following:
Very slight play in front Struts
Oil filler neck misted
Rear discs need skim
Rear anti roll bushes (Rubber) slightly worn)
slight play in steering.
Should I be worried or is this normal for a 4 year old boxster s, 40000 miles??
All help greatfully recieved and I genuinely hope Ill be able to be as helpful in a few years as some of you guys on here have been so far to me.
Thanks again in advance
Roger

Doesn't sound too bad at all to be honest - how much they quote to get it put right is the real issue!!!
Would I be right in assuming you are having the inspection with a view to getting the car into the Porsche warranty? If so, a little fact that Porsche don't always let on to is that you can have the work done elsewhere so long as genuine parts are used... I think.

Would'nt worry. Sounds normal to me. They are notoriously fussy, after all that's how they get to put more business through their workshops.
My OPC said my interior lights were not not working and wring rear wiper fitted. Would have helped if they had switched them on!!!!
Have a good indy look at it and get the work done there, but use the OPC to service the car.

you see, I'm dreading just this situation myself. Porsche outputting some list of tiny, nitpicking issues that no doubt will come with a three squillion pound bill to rectify. I'm honestly getting twitchy thinking about it.
so, do you A) cough up their stoopid price (bearing in mind that the most time consuming thing there is disc skimming and i can do that in my garage at home!) or B) get it done at an Indy and run the risk of having to pay to get the thing inspected again.
please, please mail me with how you get on, id be most interested to know.
PS. i wouldn't worry too much about over-using the forum, for the most part these folk are OK-ish (if you like that sort of thing) and if theres a limit Ive already HUGELY exceeded it. in the first twenty seconds.

The question to ask is "what of these items would stop the OPC issuing a warranty for the car?" Ask them that question and you know which ones need to be fixed - then TAKE THE WARRANTY.
I did exactly the same, got the inspection (before purchase), got the items which required work before warranty and halfed the bill with the seller - then did all the others myself over time, and now have a car which would pass their inspection with flying colours and has a full warranty.
As for disc skimming you should be able to get it done for £25 per wheel - if the OPC are close to that get them to do it, otherwise phone round to an indie.
