Mr MSV Jonathan Palmer organised a free trackday at Oulton Park yesterday to say thank you to all the volunteer marshals.

Guests of honour were Mike Newton and Tommy Erdos giving fast rides in the LM2 Osprey after returning earlier from thier success in Istanbul.

More drivers and cars turned up with Ferraris, Porcshes,MX5s Spiders, Spitfires Puntos and a couple of Rally cars.

Marshals were alowed to take to the track in thier own cars.

I had the luxury of having one Thomas Erdos showing me the way around in the Griffith.

Tommy's verdict on the Griffith......Great looking car enough power and nicely balanced a good car.

Praise enough

I'm still grinning!!

If you would like to find out more about marshaling please drop me a line.
More trackdays are promised for the other MSV circuits.

Really good day. Considering you'd pay nigh on £600 for an open pitlane day at outlon with hot lap rides, it's a really good gesture from MSV.
I got a puncture at about 3, so decided to call it a day. Shame about that Chimera having an armco interface at druids though.

Just a note to say that MSV are not the first to do this.

The Scottish Motor Racing Club (SMRC) has been doing something similar for years.

The SMRC organise a number of race events during the year, Marshals who attend approx 90% of events are invinted to a fun day which has included Off-road driving, clay pigeon shooting, skid pan, karting as well as the chance to drive legends and laps provided by competitors in their cars.

This years event takes place on Sat 26th Nov at Knockhill.

This is probably where MSV got the idea from.

I know very well the effort put in by the Scottish motor clubs for the marshals as I have Marshalled at East Fortune and Knockhill. Each time I was welcomed with open arms the hopitality was second to none.
