I know it isn't Porsche-related, fellas......but just have a look at this clip (I know many of you will remember it fondly):

Why on earth can't they get the contemporary regulations so that today's racing can be more like this?

Couldn't agree more!

You'll probably find a modern F1 car is lapping 30 sec per lap quicker, but who cares, slow them down and give us racing like this!

fantastic.

Make F1 like that again And I'd watch it. not seen a single race this year and only a handful in the last 3 years.

Moto GP/BSB/WSB is what I watch now these guys still duel like that and bash fairings etc etc.

yeh that clip gets trawled out every time we hear about how dull F1 is these days .. but with good reason .. it's a stunning clip and i for one smile every single time I see it. it's exceptionally good.

It's a great clip.

I'm not entirely sure health and safety would allow that sort of thing nowadays.

Mind you, I have just watched the A1 GP today and Robbie Kerr had some good wheel to wheel with the French lad. Good to watch was that.

Not so sure it's the regulations that prevent racing like this anymore. Whilst I agree the cars are not good aerodynamically when slipstreaming, I'm sure the likes of Montoya would be quite happy to go wheel to wheel more often,
however the moment there is a sniff of an "incident" the Max,Bernie and Sid show swings into action (supported by whichever Team manager/ Technical Director has been aggrieved by the attempted, and ok, sometimes over zealous, outbraking manouvre) and deals out a swingeing penalty.
As has been said before, with so much at stake, it's the winning that counts now (as opposed to the putting on of a show that is interesting and exciting to watch)
I only hope Valentino Rossi, if he leaves Moto GP, goes to the WRC and not F1, otherwise a real racer and a true character will become a boring puppet manipulated by the F1 circus.
