I have to replace the wing mirror bracket as fatigue has finnaly caused the failure of the original. The Boss mounted in the door is being an absolute sod!

Does anyone know of a tool that can be used to aid removal of the Boss? Tried the old hammer and drift method but it aint working.

Ta for any help.

When I did mine one really took a lot to shift it, drove a chisel into the alloy bit next to one of the legs and just kept hitting it with a big hammer until it screwed out

Have you gto an angle grinder ?

The key for getting the disks off is about the right size for mine (also works as a brake caliper wind back tool)

I thought that there was a small grub screy (with allen key head) that held the boss in place once it had been tightend.

If not, how about trying an oil filter removal tool - theone with a strap attached to a socket, not that bloody big screw drive you always use for speed.
