Running costs 993 C2S vs 993 Turbo
Discussion
Okay, i'm not convinced by this C2S v tt and discount the C4S.
You have to remember that a standard C2S is really just a wide body C2 to all intents and purposes, whereas a C4S is a turbo without the power. That means that a C2S and a C4S are oceans apart.
To answer your first question, i have posted figures along these lines before:
C2S (17's) vs C4S (18's) vs TT (18's)
front tyres, miles/money, 16k@£260, 12k@£300, 11k@£300
rear tyres, miles/money, 12k@£300, 6k@£380, 5.5k@£380
12k service, £200, £200, £210
24k service, £350, £350, £430
What you have to bear in mind is that if anything goes wrong with the turbo it could cost you MUCH more to rectify.
You'd be amazed how capable a C4S is when pitched against a turbo, and how it will walk away on the twisties from a standard C2S (with the same power and less weight). You need to drive all 3 before you make your decision.
Best of luck!

12k for rear tyres on a C2???
I plumped for a C4S after reading a little and hearing of the differences over a C2S. Some don't want or like the 4 wheel drive of course and that's cool. For me though, I got all of the looks of the Turbo (as I bagged one with fixed spoiler etc) and saved some of the cost. I would have loved a turbo but it came down to a number of things for me. It costs a lot more (10K-15K for the quality of one I'd have wanted) and I couldn't justify it. Why? Because I thought that it wasn't an ideal first Porsche (for me), I was more likely to get into license trouble and I actually liked the sound of the normally aspirated car more. I fully expect that if my C4S continues to be as amazingly good as it's been thus far, then I may well move onto the 993 turbo at a later date. The C2S is fantastic too of course but Turbo running gear (including the "Big Reds" on the C4S isn't all you get. You also get a higher spec as standard inside including (and this from memory so don't flame me!) full leather, aircon, electric seats and a better (eight or even 10?) speaker stereo. Sure all that costs more perhaps but it's one more consideration to add to the mix...
I haven't looked for a little while, well since getting mine, but what sort of value and differential in prices are you seeing between the C2S and C4S?

I only get 6-8K out of the rear tyres on my C2s, which are 285/18's. My local dealer tells me that on a C4s the front and rear need to be changed at the same time to avoid excessive wear on the diffs, even if the front have some life left in them, which I suspect pushes up the running costs. Of course this may be complete bull****!!!
Incidentally, I am selling my C2s (Turbo S bodied) if anyone is interested. It's posted in the classified section (the Zenith Blue one).

Yeah, don't name the dealer (PH has a no naming-and-shaming policy) but he/she is talking crap.
Agree with VS - you really need to drive all 3 models and decide on which feels and suits you best. C4S certainly comes with a very attractive spec and shouldn't be ignored, especially when prices for C2S/C4S are very similar. As has been mentioned a C4S comes with Turbo running gear - big reds, M030 suspension (lower chassis, firmer springs/dampers, thicker roll bars) 18" solid Turbo twists and Turbo interior (ie. leather dash and door trim). OBC standard too I think?
C2S is basically a standard C2 with M033 (lowered chassis only), standard brakes, standard interior, but with a few cosmetic differences - notably split colour coded rear spoiler, grey dial bezels, gear knob, handbrake, door sills, logo'd rev counter.
Most C2S came factory spec'd with hollow spoke 18" Turbo twists, although 17" cups were standard issue.
I chose the C2S myself. I perfered rear wheel drive, the better ride of M033 (mine's only used on roads), found the standard brakes were superb and so more than adequate, and needed the extra boot space up front. I also managed to find a well spec'd model with loads of factory options so it made my decision even easier.
At the end of the day these cars are about driving them - try them out and go with your favourite!

Pay attention to VS's comments as he has had all 3, 2s then 4s then TT, note his name with regards to tyre wear though!!
The best car is obviously the 993TT thats why Porsche charged an extra £30k+ new and they will cost you an extra £10 to £15k in RHD, unless you go LHD like myself and I saved £5k on the price of a RHD C2s
