You know what I hate....

It's when a person expresses interest in your car, asks you loads of questions, you take the time to send them pictures, write loaads about the history of the vehicle and you arrange to meet. Then you stay in all afternoon waiting for them and they dont bother to ring or turn up to say they've changed their minds!!! Why do they do that?
Incredibly rude behaviour - such people must have low moral standards. I hope that karma catches up with them and they get the same type of time-wasters when they sell a car. Even then, when they're moaning about some other sod doing it to them, I bet it doesn't make them realise that they deserve it.
To date I've only sold doggy old cars at the lower end of the market, so it will be an experience if I sell my porker. Had thought that one might expect "a better class of buyer", but from what you're saying it sounds like there are tts at every level.

hatever happened to common courtesy...
Ignorant morons have nothing better to do than waste other peoples time.
You have my sympathies!

Yep, and the worst thing about it, it was a guy on here! A guy that we had all put a lot of effort in with to help him with his enquiry about a £13K 911 !!
Makes you wonder why we bother eh?

Selling privately is a total nightmare.!
Of all the cars I've bought and sold over the last few years, only 1 was sold privately.. and it was more grief than the rest put together.
The sale went through ok, but the guy decided he did not want the car after a week. He wanted to sell it on, and for me to transfer docs into next owner's name. Situation got worse as I had not recieved docs back after plate transfer.. lesson.!
Then after everything was finally sorted, with plate transfer etc.. I bumped into him at trackday, and he was still driving with my private plate on.

Oh Dear...
La
Thats what i ended up doing the dealer i bought it from put me in contact with another dealer who bought the car.
They both make money but its worth it,just not to have to deal with all the c.cks waisting my time.
I thought if i sold it through phers the story might have been different but it was'nt,so many time waisters i had to pull the add.
So in two weeks time i'm going to be without a porsche for the first time in 5 years.
But guys i'm affraid you wont be getting rid of me that easily as i intend to stay on phers as i enjoy it to much!

Oh James, I do hope that you do not mean me?
If you do, which bit of the following email from over a week ago did you misunderstand? ...
Hi James,
Thanks very much for the in depth reply and history summary.
Like you say, the car is undoubtedly none the worse mechanically, and maybe even better, because of it's prior use.
My problem is that I must be able to sell the car on in 6 or 12 months when I am in a position to get either the Testarossa or, who knows, a newer 911!
I'm afraid 133k is just too much for me to risk at resale time, which is a real shame as the car looks superb and, I do love the colour and interior. Even the wife would like it!
Thanks for all your time though James, it is appreciated.

I would not dream of p!ssing someone around over a car sale, that is why i risk being a pain in the backside by asking so many questions beforehand. If you remember it took me a couple of times of asking to get the mileage out of you. If you had mentioned the mileage earlier on then i would not have troubled you.
A lot of people on P.Heads know me personally, I was talking to Domster at BT&P about my 924 v 3.2C predicament. To think that I might have been made out to be a t*sser and a time waster to those people whom I regard as friends has made me very very angry.
If you doubt my integrity, ask Dazren, or Rods, or Mod500, or Derestrictor, or CraigW, or even Ted himself! Yes, you probably get the idea, Im bloody fuming.
No wonder people like me are reticent to go and see people and their cars for fear of if they don't buy it being labelled a time waster.
If you don't mean me James, then I apologise unreservedly ... if you do, then I expect likewise. On here will do fine, no need to phone me even though you did have my number to enquire where I was if you were still mistakenly expecting me, even after my email.

I know that it might seem a harmless bit of fun from the outside, but it's upset me quite a bit. The last things that I want are, a) someone to think badly of me because of a misunderstanding, and b) to lose the chance of a 911 that is right for me because people think I'm a time waster.
James' car would have been ideal, great colour combo, and I was genuinely gutted when I saw the mileage.
Since then, having spoken to even more people, and read more reports, I THINK, I need a 3.2 Carrera, Coupe not Targa, less than 85k miles and, RHD preferred unless it a real belter!
Since talking to Domster at Black Tie & Pie, a 964 MAY be feasible at the right price, but only if I can be sure the DMF and head has been done. The mileage however remains a constant.
