What exactly are the symptons? Is it turning over but not firing? One of the more common faults is caused by the DME or Fuel pump relay (same thing different name, dunno why) failing. If it is the relay its an easy thing to rectify and the relay isn't expensive.

hi it keeps missfiring and stoping un till last week .it stoped and would not start again.i checked alsorts but it will not start. i had power to all the main parts etc.so today i cut the fuel pump wires and put a live to the fuel pump and it started after 10 mins.but still missed when the wires were refit.then it just ran ok but i have not fixed it yet i dont think. its almost like a bloked filter or pump.

I had the same stop/starting misfiring problem on an 84' 944, turned out to be a loose wire behind the fusebox from the fuel pump relay. Might be worth checking this. I was convinced it was a fuel filter or fuel pump issue at the time.

Also the 944 do suffer from a faulty "DME relay". Alays carry a spare,a nd be ready to change if necessary. Have you checked this (in the fusebox)?

i got a new dme relay.the problem i have i have power to fuel pump.injecters coil plugs the lot but it still did not start untill sataday.ive just been to the workshop and its ok today.but its done this a few times now.i think its the pump or filter. or it could be in the tank . a blocked stack pipe would give the same fault.its hard to find at night on the side of the road.it does not help when you find cut wires behind the dash i found a wire from the switch on the heated rear screen right to the back window.i put a relay in the wiring today.it seems to be charging better to.
