It is scheduled to be released in May 2006.

Prototypes of the GT3 are currently being tested worldwide, but here are two pictures – taken near Porsche’s home base in Stuttgart - showing the new model for the first time without disguise in full showroom trim.

The new GT3 can be recognized by the big air intakes in the front skirt and the big rear wing. The super sports car is expected to be powered by a 3,8 litre engine performing next to 400 HP. It is equipped furthermore with a newly developed six speed transmission.

Like before, Porsche is again making a “Cup” race version of the new model

Front bumperis a bit fussy, shame as it messes up the front-end

Yep, a tad Max Powery, do all the different holes in the front serve a different purpose...methinks not.

I think the front will lokk much better with an "oblong" number plate instead of the big square one in the photo. That one breaks the lines of the air scoop.

If this is real I hope it goes better than it looks.

Boxster facelift back end.

Mitsu Impreza evo front.

Bland side view.

I shall reserve judgement.

Not too sure about the front end, but overall I like it.

That's a hole like on the opposite side. What you're seeing is a white reflection of the wet road showing through the hole

Damn.

It's still ugly. The whole car looks bloated, never mind the fussy bolt-ons!

I think that Burzel is refering to the top picture where you can see that the edge of the lower lip/spoiler is white and not red as in the picture below.

I would guess that they are not the same car or if it is then it may have been photographed at on seperate occasions.

Reckon it's some sort of protective film that they forgot to remove completely before it left the factory. It's the same car on what looks to be the same day but in the second photo you cannot see the "offending" bit of the bumper, I reckon it's still there but just out of sight.

With the exception of the front bumper I agree with Burzel, the car looks stunning

God it's boring in work this afternoon.

That front end looks like standard 997 aero kit to me ...

dear oh dear.it looks pretty much identical to the 997 aerokit which was on the standard 997 I've had on loan for the last two days and just returned.not only does it catch on every single london speedhump,it also spoils the lovely 993 derived basic shape of the 997.As for the 997 GT3 I just think it's a shame that Porsche can't be somewhat more adventurous when it comes to designing these new models. My personal opinion ,at least initially, is that the GT3 is getting progressively uglier, with the mk1 by far the most attractive design, and as for the pics of the new turbo (yuk)...suffice to say in terms of pure aesthetics I suspect the basic 997S will be the most attractive model in the 997 range by some way...

Agreed. I think it looks like to many straight lines at the front. And the slots in the rear PU are horrid. I really hope that Porsche has not completely lost the plot with forth coming GT3 and Turbo.
