944 workshop manual
Discussion
i have just bought a cheap '84 944 for a bit of weekend fun. before i waste my money buying a haynes manual (which from past experience are usually close to usless) is there a better workshop manual avaiable? If so - where from. Finally if anybody has a copy that they no longer use and would be willing to sell it to me that would be great.
also any recommended 944 parts sites/suppliers?

The haynes manual is ok but aimed at the american car... still worth having though. Look on ebay for scanned copies of the dealer workshop manual on cd for about 5 quid. It's a very easy car to work on.
I used Berlyn Services (www.partsforporsche.co.uk/osc/), Type 911 (www.type-911.co.uk/) and Andrew Sweatenham @ Promax is worth contacting (www.promax.uku.co.uk/main.htm) for parts for mine. Porsche apart (www.porsch-apart.co.uk/) are good for 2nd hand bits and some new bits (eg suspension bushes etc).

Mark

The Haynes one is pretty useless as it only covers an early US 944.
Better with a web copy of the pukka Porker one.
