Whilst looking at a US Porsche site recently, I noticed that all new Porsche's in the US come with a 4 year warranty. Why then do we in the UK only get 2 years as standard? I guess the answer is that 2yrs is what Porsche can get away with, but is there a more scientific reason??

I can't think of one. Note also, that Porsches are about 40% cheaper over there. Apart from our high car taxes, I guess it's the usual "whatever they can get away with" in good old "treasure island".

I believe the reason is that Porsche North America have just decided to give the extra warranty off their own backs, I'm not positive but I don't believe the extra 2 years is backed by the Factory. Probably to make Porsche buyers believe they are not getting stiffed. Most car dealers in North America are now offering 10 year 100,000 mile limited warranty.
