528i Autobox failing to upshift

Hi all,

I've got a '97 528i Auto, with 83k miles on the clock which fails to upshift from 3rd, unless flipped into sports mode and manually changed. Once put back into normal auto mode it seems to be fine after that.

Any ideas what's up with it?

A longshot this but a similar thing sometimes occurs on 7 series BMW's when the rear tyres are very worn...

Had similar problem in 520 and it was the ecu buffer memory was full, the gararge reset it and all was well again
