Hum not sure about the need. There is a damn sight more wind noise in my helmet than I get with roof down on the Griff.

Most noise on a motorbike is caused by the forcing of alot of air (10+ litres a second at motorway speeds in some helmets IIRC) through a small space, through even smaller holes. So hearing damage is actually caused by wearing a helmet. Although some helmets are alot quiter than others. My old AGV was alot quiter than my current SOUMY(sp?).

Also the bike and hieght of the rider can add to this. If your head is directly in line with the airflow over the front of the bike (eg of the top of the screen) then it will create more noise than if it is your chest in line, or it goes over the top.

Recon I got hearing damage from 14 years in a 7.
Either that or too many noisy pub bands.

Brilliant above hahahaha! There is no way Earplugs are coming anywhere near my lobes. The sound is my favourite thing. Its rediculous and i love it How i ever lived with the standard exhaust note I will never know. I get so exhited when she starts to snap, crackle and pop and the occasional whaa bang still brings a tear to my eye. Took my mate out the other day who said the F355 sounded dissapointing compared to this. And that did make me grin like a cheshire cat. Chimaera S3TAY

A small tip from Le Mans. If you don't have earplugs. Just rip off your cigarette filters, take the paper off and shove em' in. Works like a charm
