4.0 engine v 4.3 v 4.5
Discussion
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of each engine and whether you'd treat a '93 model with a re-engined 4.5 with suspicion.
Modified cars should be treated with a bit more care. Insurance can be a problem especially if a bigger engine has been dropped in and no brake/suspension upgrade has been done. Who supplied the engine? who did the transplant? How much more power does it have? Has this weakened the other components? Resale is often difficult as well. The 4.5 is the best, the 4.3 is the rarest an the 4 litre is as cheap as chips.

Are you sure that the 93 car isn't original as there were a few 4.5s they were very fast with a very expensive engine spec, not to be confused with the later 4.5 which is actually the factory 4.6.
Actually the 4.0L new is the same price as the 4.6 both are about £2,500 as stock + modified heads etc, to get them up to TVR spec, the only difference is the stroke, this is why so many people upgrade to 4.6.
