My GF's dad does for his work.
Don't know if that is any use for you, I can get in touch with him if there is something in specific.

ah... so there is someone out there!

Mine finally died last week, so I have a charger and three batteries (one of which is pants) - free of charge to the first person that shouts on this thread.

How did you manage to kill it? I have heard the tales of what the GF's dad has put th D1X through (some very funny) in the course of Fire brigade duty. It seemed to me it would outlast a tank.

It's been playing up on and off for the past couple of years. It would sometimes 'freeze' (Just like a computer lock up) ... finally it decided to freeze permanently. Grays of Westmister wanted £600 + VAT + delivery to fix it so I told them to bin it.

So they'll now fix it in-house for £0 and put it on the s/h market.. watch their ads!

my d1x has a cracked rear screen cover, faulty meter selection switch and the grips are peeling slightly. a certain camera repair company in south london wanted over £500 to fix it!

i should add that it still works fine, so the repair estimate was particularly ridiculous
