Hi all,

I am currently documenting a number of backup jobs for a group of servers in a domain.

What I'd ideally like to achieve is a graphical timeline showing when server backups start and finish.

Does anyone know how I might go about this in Excel?

Thanks,
Greg

Ask JohnRB, he's good with timelines.

Time in 15 minute chunks or whatever on one axis, one row per server on the other axis, coloured in bars representing jobs?

Thanks for that, but the main problem I'm getting is that the backup jobs run overnight. Excel doesn't seem too happy with this.

Not sure what the difficulty is can you provide some example data? My initial guess is that you need to use a date/time format not just a time format.

Do you mean the difficulty is caused by going past midnight?
