I've been given a challenge by my Father to try and find a font for his PC. On his old "Steam driven" IBM machine he had a font called "Beanie" which looks very much like a style of font that you get from certain wide nibbed ink pens used in calligraphy.
His new PC hasn't got it on, I've hunted through Google and have found many sites which say they have the font on Free download, but when i download the zip files, there's nothing in it.
I thought it was me, so downloaded another font, which came up OK. just that all the sites which have "beanie" on them, the Zip files are empty.

So, has anyone got in PH land got this font on their PC which they could copy & send to me or know of a site which actually has this font to download.

If they have , I, or rather my parents would be very chuffed to get it.
Thanks in advance

Cheers guys for that, But I still have the same problem as before. I open the file and all i see in the preview screen in the word Beanie in a diifferent font and the numbers on the LHS showing, what I presume would be the font size. starting with 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 & 60. No font preview at all

This is what I got from the many web sites that I looked at. It only seemed to be a problem with the Beanie font. All the others that I viewed & downloaded all worked out fine.

That's why I said it was going to be a challenge.

Well, it works for me. Try uninstalling the beanie font you have, and use the one I linked to - which I used to create this:

Ag man I know why!

It was served as text rather than binary. The mime type of the server you connected to set the mime type incorrectly. You might need to rename the font - Windoze may well have added a .txt to the end of the filename which is hidden from you. Check it out... Otherwise, let me know & I'll bung it up on some other server with a sane mime type.

Guys, this is very frustrating. I am still getting the blank version as attached above. from both links. I have tried re-naming the file, but to no avail

Yes Zak, done that, I do not have Beanie on my PC, it's not in the fiont, it's nowhere. I then open the link you posted and it's still as I previously posted, an empty box with just nimbers on the LHS.
I have tried to oped the link.... nothing, I have tried to run the link.... nothing. I just can't see where I am going wrong. any other font that I download is fine, it's just this one for some reason.
