In the spirit of sharing...Tobago
Discussion
OK, a few images from a recent winter visit to Tobago. Only took a few bits and pieces as was aiming for a relaxing break with Mrs CVP rather than a specifically photographically focussed holiday. Even so, it's such a wonderful island I couldn't resist taking quite a few.
1. Ruby Topaz hummingbird feeding on flowers by the roadside.
Beautiful to watch these little jewels flying around. I suspect there's quite a bit more that could be done with this as my PS skills are not great.
2. Lizard cleaning up the insects on a tree
3. Fiddler crab on the beach. Image shot from the bar whilst nursing a nice cold beer - sometimes this wildlife stuff is hard work
4. Yellow crowned night heron. A regular visitor because one of their favourite foods is...fiddler crabs. I did have to leave the bar for a few minutes for this one.
5. Speyside village
One thing you can say about the Tobagans is they do like their bright colours. I like to imagine that the pink houses were painted first and then Mr Blue decided he would have the brightest house. Then to cap it all Mr Acid Green blew them away. God knows what the stakes are raised to now, perhaps the next one will be dayglo !
6. Top Ranking boat tours sign
These guys run boat tours to Little Tobago to see the red Billed Tropicbirds and also snorkeling over angel reef whcih has lovely corals. Top buch of guys and I really liked the graffiti art style of their shop/stall
7. Last one - a vertical panorama of Speyside
The hotel we stayed at can be seen in the bottom right of the frame.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend Tobago as a lovely destination if you can tick one of the following four options (the more the better)
a) you're interested in wildlife at all
b) you like cold beer
c) you enjoy Creole cooking
d) you like a slow pace of life
Mrs CVP and I will be back but next time I'm making sure I get a good deal of photographic time.
