As it's time to upgrade my old camera, i spotted this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINOLTA-DiMAGE-
Anyone that can shed some light on the Minolta, ease of use, pic quality, etc?

Many thanks

I'd be wary of a seller with only 106,812 feedback points.

i had a Z2, my brother uses it now, and it was truly fantastic, good quality and as hard or easy to use as you want.
My only gripe really is the manual functions were a bit fiddly using the four way cursor keys to set the values.
on auto mode, brilliant, and shot at 15fps!!

It's not bad for the money, I have the old Z1 (3.2Mp) and it's ok for just a point and shoot camera. I found the flash on mine wasn't too hot, I was getting lots of noise when using it.

You can check out the DP review here:

The new(ish) Z6 is also out (6 Mp I think, 12 x zoom) and you can buy that for around £270. Konica Minolta were bought out last month by Sony so I don't know how if you'd be covered by the manufacturer's warranty now (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

I have a Z1 and as a budding amateur I am pretty impressed by the functions. As someone else has said, the flash is a little lacking but probably no worse than any compact. If you need a feck off flash that can be added to it.
