Heater controls

The heater directional control on the Dash of my Chimaera has stopped controling the direction of the air, and is now just spinning with no effect. Is this a simple fix, or a major job in your experience?

She hasn't posted a conclusion to that thread to tell us if she was successful. So some of us assume that she's firmly gripped between the sections of the opened dash like some horror image from Jaws!

I had this problem back in October and managed to fix it relatively easily.
