And achieved 191bhp @ flywheel 146bhp RWHP

I know it doesn't sound like alot, but considering its standard, and it only had 169bhp in 1993, I'm dead chuffed with that.

Looks like my atmospheric Chav valve and a few tanks of optimax have done the trick. Either that or somethings fecked on the turbo and its boosting to high, but as I dont have a boost gauge, I'm assuming its stock boost :?

I would of expected more from a 1.8 turbo (or is it a 2.0?)

1.8

As I said, back when it was made in '93, it had (supposedly) 169bhp @ fly (so god knows what it was @ rear wheels), so over the years it has gained 22bhp. Thats the bit I'm happy about. 116k miles, and its running better than when it was new.

And I wanted to get a figure before I started on the engine. New exhaust is going on this week, as well as an HKS induction. FMIC after that, then its T28, 440cc injectors, Fuel Cut removal chip and possibly a new manifold, should see closer to 300bhp (@fly)

It was done at the SXOC RR day at Streetracers in Leicester.

I thought it was running fine. Boosts well, and doesn't start to tail off til after 6500rpm.

so not fuelling then?
Charlie @ Surry RR did Fibb's etc and could tell the boost fuelling etc, re-assuring to know on a turbo'd motor

Fuelings spot on by all accounts.
Possibly running a bit rich (slightly low mpg for state of tune, driving style) but nothing I'm worried about.

cool better to run rich than risk burnt valves...
so is it tuned at all? 20 odd BHP is a large increase??

Were everyone else's cars coming back with over 20bhp more than expected. With th age and mileage of your engine i would have thought it more likely to drop 20. But if yours is the only car to pull stronger than expected on the rollers then
Mine's got 133k on the clock now and is a '92 s13, i'd be very impressed if mine got close to 169bhp, and i've got air filtler and exhaust, but my engines very ropey, oil leaking all over the place and the tubby gaskets have been blowing for nearly 4 months. Its no wonder mines so slow.

Mine was suprise of the day. Most people were down on what they expected.

There was another S13 with filter & exhaust, and IIRC it only managed 170 @ flywheel

Chuffed is not the word
