Blinged up Porker debuts at Geneva Show

Welcome to the most overhyped car at the Geneva show, basically a marketing exercise for a new kind of plastic. Yawn…

Yes the Rinspeed body is an enticing prospect, and if they’d left all the dressing in Tiffany’s window where it belongs then this would have been a good idea. But huge Swarovski crystals for indicators, someone needs to be shot…

Nobody could or would buy this car, even Spyker would laugh it out the showroom, and the tinting roof has garnered far more attention from the specialist automotive press than it deserves.

The only thing of real note is the holographic light that appears in the rear view, which is a big plus on the safety front, but the rest of it is publicity-seeking rubbish from a company that has previously bought us the amphibious hover car. Yes, that one worked as well. Oh…

It almost didn’t make the cut, but with so many regurgitated press releases filling the net like farm salmon, the truth must out. It stinks, it stinks like a Cheeky Girls concert in an old peoples’ home.

Like I've said earlier in a another thread, this thing is an absolute mess. Ferrari headlights and the rear end from some dodgy kit car. I think the folks at Rinspeed need give substance abuse a rest.

taken for what it is, that being a showcase for new materials - a concept car, what's the problem? rinspeed specialise in concept cars so why the pure vitriol poured on it from the pistonhead's reporter?

I agree, v surprised with the tone of the report - as you say, concept cars should be ridiculous, and push boundaries, so well done rinspeed.

I you hate the outside wait until you see the inside - looks like Barbi and Ken would spec their car for a trip to Hawaii.

this seems to be a bit of a theme running through the snippet-reports of late, not really what you'd expect from a respected online motoring magazine .. anyone know why this is happening? The Spyker write-up left a similar funny taste in my mouth. Just tell us the facts and leave us to make out own minds up!

The reason I like this one over the Spykers: it's a whole, it's an idea and it's not just a chavved up Porker. The Spyker is Legoed together . . . imho.
