Thanks for all the useful information to date. After 3 months of looking I've finally bought one.

I've done a search on insurance and found reference to Tesco/Priviledge/ASDA and First Point aswell as www.insurance.easy-quote.co.uk.

Insurance Easy's best quote was £1700 for a 40 year old bloke with 5 years no claims and one SP30.

Does anyone have any other suggestions. I'll try First Point, Tesco etc tomorrow.

I find Privilidge/Direct line to be the most competative by far. I'm with the former at the moment, with my last 911 I with the latter.

sounds high, but depends on location. My 4200 is with Direct line, 42 years, full NCB - £900 incl benifits, but the excess is about £500!

44 YO, full ncd, 1 sp30, £300 excess, limited to 3k ( but you carry over any unused)live NW Kent. Full comp with Heritage as a modern classic £527.20.
If you go down the "modern classic" route you can carry on using your NCD on your daily user as Heritage do not need any NCD. You can specify your preffered mileage (which will effect the premium obviously).

Just as a comparison year before last was with Tesco 30k PA plus bizz use £1200

Heritage tel number 0121 246 5050

another option is Adrian Flux. I haggled them to £1207 for 6K miles p.a., 2 yrs no claims, age 36, no points, BS1 postcode. I think the original quote was nearer 2K. I reckon I could have got cheaper but didn't have the time to spend going for it.

Chris Knott can be competitive too.

Whatever you do though, don't take either on their first quote. Get a competitive quote and ask them to beat it.

Wow that sounds a lot!!

For my 51 plate 3200GTM. Barclays online £1000 protected NCD and legal, unlimited mileage. Husband and I were 30yrs old when we took the policy out in July '06. 4 years NCD. My husband only passed his test 2 years ago at that time.
