For that money you could get an S2000 but you seem to want big horses,An s2k would stay with more than you would think!!
And i would say try one you maybe very well impressed!

If the 2+2 is not important then 350Z must be considered.

Can get the new one at 296bhp ( NA ) for £26300, alternatively, pick up a 2 year old one for about 18K and slap on a APS twin turbo ( approx £8k - £10k ) and see around 430 - 480 bhp

R34 Skyline, surely?

I'd also consider TurboT's VVTi Single turbo'd Supra if it was me (£23k).

You could get an R34 for £25-£27k now, may not be an absolute minter and it probably wouldn't be a Middlehurst sourced "official" UK car for that money

A UK R34 (if it floats your boat) would do nicely sir
Probably would get one of the 80 UK/Middlehurst R34 V-specs for that money, my logic being that about a year ago I saw 2 examples; one at £38k & one at £33k.

R34 is the only real next-step, power-wise.

Maybe drive an NSX though...will feel a little slower than the Supra, but handling and poise should be a revelation. That budget should get you a very tidy 3.0 manual.

NSX yes, good idea that man, maybe a little down on the power, but chassis/handling quality will make up for it pace-wise. Almost ledgendary staus is imminant too.

If you watch the Best Motoring 'battles, the underpowered NSX does quite well against Lambo's, ferraris, etc, all with much more power, and cost! great car!

There's nothing new out there is there? I really wanted a 2+2, looked at the 350z then when I realised it was a 2 seater I turned my eyes back to the tuscan and settled for that! Was hoping that there might be something out there a lot newer than the nsx and skyline, but there just aint!! whats happening to the super fast 2+2 6cyl coupe market, it just seems to have dwindled to nothing!

why drop a Skyline motor in it? the SR20DET in the S15 can be tuned to 700+ bhp, thats plenty for most people

(or a very reliable 350-400 fairly easily from what I've heard)

Get a cheap NSX and do something fun with the engine? The chassis would handle 400nhp wouldn't it?

Get a cheap NSX...

No such thing. A cheap NSX will be cheap for a reason, and replacing parts on them can get expensive...and I don't even want to THINK about engine work!!!

Get a good NSX, and THEN decide if you want more power. But bear in mind that without forced induction anything much over 300bhp is going to be very expensive to reach.

Cheap coz of knackered engine is still cheap if you're going to throw money at it getting big power...

Still, a decent stock one should be plenty quick.

I like the NSX but I wish they'd finished the designing from the door handles back... almost like two separate cars. I do like a decent GT wing on the back instead of the stock spoiler too... Super GT style...

if you're wanting the space in the back then the M3's of years gone by can give you an enjoyable drive.
The Cerberra also has a true 2+2 layout, and the 4.5V8 gives plenty of boot.

If it were me I'd be looking at the Cerberra. To be a step up from the Supra you need that punch in the back when accelerating... the TVR will definitely do that.

Was just thinking... are you wanting to change because you're after a performance increase or just wanting a change of ride? If you're after a change of ride then you'll want it to be a different 'feel' in the cockpit... sticking with Japanese (ie. skyline, NSX etc.) will stick with the same 'feel'... if you go for a TVR you'll get a totally diffeent car inside and out.

If you check his profile he's already got the Tivver so can;t see how a Cerb would be much change.

Might be looking for something fairly powerful, interesting to drive but gives confidence in it's day-to-day use?

M3 would do that I guess - it's fairly unpreposessing to look at...

R34 GTR would be a great car if you can find one for that price I guess.
