Rear hubs

Hello all, quick (hopefully) question, are the rear hubs (ball bearing and tapered bearing types) interchangable on the stub axle?
Got a rear wheel singing in a deep baratone voice whenever I put any load on it (cornering) and the bearings seem fine.

Simple answer-yes,hub and stub are the same,only the bearing and wheel studs are different but totally interchangable.Taper-roller bearings are stronger.
