PROPERTY AUCTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC?

Hi PCD.
As you probably know, the property market here has been pretty buoyant for quite a few years. That means that almost every run-of-the-mill property has been going to auction, particularly in Dublin and surrounds.
Maybe that's why "all estate agents are auctioneers". All the big houses (Sherry Fitzgeralds, Lisneys, Douglas Newman Good, etc., etc.)will auction off quite a few properties every Wednesday or Thursday.
Are you looking for anything in particular?

I think what you're looking for is rare here. Your best bet is phoning the major estate agents as listed above as they'd probably know best as to when their next auction is. The Irish Independent on a Friday and the Irish Times on a Thursday have property pullouts that might have some info in them (I don't seem to have one here so can't check for you), not sure if the on-line version has thesame contents.

commercial property supplements in both times and independent on wednesday, thurs residential in times and fri in independent, and theres always www.myhome.ie for pretty much every house for sale in ireland or www.nicemove.ie, i think the times property supplements are available online at www.ireland.com
also the decent sunday papers run property supplements, eg, business post, sunday independent

Thanks for the replies gents.........looking to buy a small farm or maybe a 5 acreupwards plot/site southwest area, (been trying to sell my bungalow for six months in Uk without success, but dont want to miss the boat so need to get on with it)........I think a weeks holiday and fact finding mission is in order
.......was there last year and really should have bought a site in Listowel 5 acre with planning for 1 dwelling 100K euro........just wasnt quite the right time. Jeez that sounds like a bargain , PCD... Prices have gone crazy over here in the last while , the national stats seem to show no correlation to whats happening on the ground.
Houses in well sought after areas of Dublin have increased by up to 30% in the last year, and land with development potential is commanding unbelievable rates , just about anywhere in Ireland.

Intention is to move accross permanantly within 5 years but probably spend 6 months of the year there initially, Dublin out of the question, houses look to be more expensive than London there.......my wife is into equestrian stuff so need something big enough to have stables and paddock, not too fussy where really as long as its peaceful with a pub nearby!!
There's plenty of horsey places available at any one time in the weekly property sections , as outlined by Brady... Dublin IS gone mad ... Most of us basically shouldn't be able to live in the houses we're in , they've increased so much , if you get me... But it's only paper money anyway , and I was living in the UK in the early nineties , and saw what happened there .....
My personal opinion is that you should look close (within 40 miles) of Dublin , there are good priced lots (farmhouses with loose boxes) to be had still , and as Dublin expands , these will increase hugely in prices .. presuming it doesn't all come tumbling down !!

its a serious mountain to climb for those that dont have a house already, south east is lovely, my girlfriend lives in tramore, the weather is so much better down there, prices are increasing much faster in dublin than anywhere else in percentage terms, talk of bubbles etc is just talk i think (& hope)! dont forget stamp duty and all the other costs! this has all the info u need i think, http://www3.myhome.ie/advice_news/art

Fair dues , You've got yourself a nice bit of property .. Difficult enough to get on the ladder these days in Dublin ... The dream car can come later ...
