check www.motorsport.org.nz/Calendar/calendar.htm for dates and details of race meetings, rallies etc that are on while you're here. should be a few that are convenient.

what parts of NZ are you planning on seeing? don't count on things being completely scamera-free, and remember our cops can be anally-retentive nazis when it comes to speed. oh, and if you go to Auckland you may not avoid traffic jams either.

sorry to disappoint you. on the other hand, we do have some abolutely brilliant driving roads

Where are you going? Doesn't sound like anywhere around here.

Must be heading to the South Island . . .

it will be the north island east of tauranga, have a friend there.she used to be a race driver so am counting on her knowing lots of quiet back roads.

Literally east of Tauranga is normally quite wet and more suited to sailing than driving.

Some very nice places South-East. It also puts you within range of the Taupo track which has recently been extended

Why not visit South Island as well? If I can do both islands in a month you can certainly do them in three! (lucky b*stard)
