Mazda Servicing - bodywork inspection

I put my RX8 in for its 37.6K service yesterday and was surprised on picking it up to see that they had not done the inspection for the bodywork warranty. I thought it would be included as part of the service - but was informed by the dealer that it is optional with a 16 quid extra charge. Is this standard procedure for all Mazda dealers?

I wouldn't have minded if they had mentioned this when booked the service or even when i dropped the car off with them! Now i have to go back sometime and get it done while i wait.
