Today on arriving home my car had a 1 minute mental attack where it couldn't idle. Rev needle was below 1k then above, then below.

I tried too drive the car out the drive at in had a mind of it's own! Was kangooring in 1st gear.

So stopped, and after about a minute everything was back to normal again, and hasn't done it since?

Do I just put it down to one of those things, or is my engine just about to explode! :-)

yes, its on its way out dude, best bet would be to sell it reall cheap or if your really nice ill straight swap it for my lightly fettled C2 which is perfect and been certified by Dr Porsche himself not to suffer the same idle rev issue.

if you do decide to sell, cos I would, let me know and ill find some unsuspecting mug with a HUGE bank account for repairs to take of off your hands.

Steve

Uneven idling is often associated with a faulty mass air flow sensor.

These don't normally fix themselves though.

I had exactly the same problem with my RS (Focus not GT3 unfortunately) and was due to a faulty Mass Airflow Sensor. Best to get it checked out I reckon mate.
