I am considering upgrading the suspension of my E46 330 Sport Coupe.

I have read great things about the Alpina set up, as found on the B3.

Anyone know who could supply all the relevant bits, set-up etc.

Cheers

Robert.

Sytner could supply or you could try Buchloe direct www.alpina.de

Personally, I'd go for Koni FSD dampers, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, Rogue Engineering rear top mounts, Powerflex bushes all-round and Eibach Anti-Roll Bars.

Don't worry about these items not being covered by BMW extended warranty as there is no suspension or steering cover above 60k anyway.

Will be less comfortable than Alpina setup (if you push at the limit you'll find it wallowy, yet at 90% it will provide an ideal balance), but Eibach/Koni setup will be fantastic in terms of handling dynamics and the ride will be acceptable.

My 330ci Sport setup is OEM + AC Schnitzer Springs (manufactured by Eibach to ACS specifications). The car rides and handles better than stock. I shall upgrade to the above shortly nevertheless.

AC Schintzer stuff is easier to get hold of and cheaper than Alpina stuff. Let me know if you want a price sorting

Thank you folks- I am test driving a B3 conv tomorrow (hopefully) which may negate the need for any upgrades!

I understand that the Alpina set-up gives much more composure at speed, but is not quite so firm as an M3- I do around 30k miles a year so want something that can cruise when need be...

How do the ACS set ups compare?

Well you can have the lowering springs (-25mm) for around £140 ish, which are basically Eibach springs or there is the Full sports set up which is adjustable IIRC. That usually retails between £800 and £1100 depending on car and year etc.

IIRC the Alpina sports suspension setup on a standard car is around £2k plus a KDS when fitted.

I deal with all of the accessories (Accessories Specialist) for BMW and MINIs at the dealership so I have all of the info at work.
