Does anyone know which car the electric window regulators come from? The driver's side on my 97 chimp is sooooooooooooooooooo slow I think I'll have to invest in a new one soon.

Thanks in advance for yor help.

Hot tip that may help. Take off your door trim loosten off the rear window frame bolts (top and bottom) a few turns so it wobbles slighlty. Then wind window up and down a few times. This will hopefully let window find its perfect running position. Also put some silicone grease on the runner. This may work, it did for me. I think you can slacken the bottom front bolt also, but I cant remember now.

I took the driver's side door apart the other day and greased the mechanism with slight improvement in winding speed. Wish I'd read this about the runners before.

Another thing I didn't manage to fix ... the front runner/upright on the driver's side is very whippy and the wind sucks it out above about 80mph, making a hell of a racket. The passengers side is much stiffer (can I say that here without everyone taking the pith) and stays sealed. All the bolts on the driver's side seem to be tight and I couldn't feel any breaks. I notice that the silicon seal at the bottom is broken on the driver's side but I don't think that's enough to cause the difference.
Anyone got any good ideas what might be wrong.

.... this sounds like the top bolt in the runner is missing. The front runner on mine is secured in three places; once at the botton, once about halfway up inside the door - you can see the thread from this when you have the door open it sits on the fairly flat bit; and a third which secures the support strut to the door.
